I Did not paint for 2 days as I had other important family stuff scheduled. I am back to the painting board today and focusing on Gordon Gecko’s eyes which will be the center part of the painting. In a portrait, people stare at the character’s look. The quality of the final painting will fully rely on Gecko’s intense look. Of course, the faint smile will improve the whole atmosphere. I am pretty certain that if I could leave hand, face and the whole face unfinished and if eyes and mouth are ok, the whole painting would look fine.
Here is the work in progress :

I am progressively painting from the center : eyes, then brow, then nose, then cheeks and so on… The mouth is not done yet. I already saw a few defaults in the painting I will correct as soon as possible (while paint is still fresh).
1 or 2 hours later :

Note : the two last pics look more orange because taken in the evening. the light is not the same (more artificial). The real painting does not look so dark and orange.
