Here is the work in progress so far.
The face is almost finished even if I have a few details to correct here and there. Still have a few details to see around the mouth, paint hair and work on smooth shades. Then I’ll start going down the hand… Anyway the main job is done and I am pretty satisfied of the face painting, given the original photo.
Of course there is quite some more work in progress to finish the painting but the hardest part is done.
On another subject, I received 4 art books this week I ordered at Amazon. I recently discovered the Spectrum Annual retrospective art books on the munchkinpress forum (see links). The latest one, Spectrum 14 for the year 1996 is amazing. So many quality artists in the field of Science Fiction / Fantasy Art !!! I highly recommend it. I also bought a Frank Frazetta Rough works book which is quite interesting.
Yesterday, I also watched a conference by Donato Giancola (who is becoming more and more one of my favorite artists), Dan Dos Santos and Irene (can’t remember her name). Very very interesting and educative. You can watch it here :
